10 Resolutions For Wanderers

If 2022 has taught us anything, it’s that we can’t take anything for granted. We never know when the world is going to change in an instant, so it’s important to make the most of every moment. If you’re a wanderer at heart, here are some resolutions to help you make 2023 a year to remember.

Follow your heart - Sometimes we all need a little reminder to follow our heart, especially when it comes to decisions about travel and adventure. It can be scary venturing out into the unknown, but trust me, it's always worth it in the end. So go ahead and book that ticket, take that detour, and do what you gotta do to travel the world—you won't regret it!

Make time for what matters most - This year, make the decision to prioritize the things that matter most to you—whether that means making more time for family and friends, spending more time outdoors, or finally taking that dream trip you've always wanted to go on. Whatever it is, make sure you allocate time in your schedule for the things that mean the most to you—you'll be glad you did!

Get out of your comfort zone - One of the best ways to learn and grow is by pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Try something new, go someplace you’ve never been, or meet someone completely different from anyone you know. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut, but by venturing outside your comfort zone you may just find something amazing.

Learn a new language - If you really want to immerse yourself in another culture, learning the local language is a great way to do it. There are plenty of resources available to help you learn a new language, whether it's taking an online class or using a language-learning app like Duolingo. Having even a basic understanding of the local language will make your travels that much more enjoyable. Trust me, it's worth the effort!

Live in the moment - It’s easy to get caught up in planning for the future or dwelling on the past, but it’s important to remember that the only moment we have for sure is right now. Make an effort to be present and enjoy the here and now, whether that means savoring a good cup of coffee or taking a leisurely stroll through your favorite park.

Be spontaneous - Life is full of surprises, both good and bad. But sometimes the best moments are those that we don’t see coming. Embrace spontaneity and say yes to things even when you don’t know ahead of time what it may bring. You may just find yourself on an adventure you never would have otherwise experienced.

Authentic Experiences Only - When you travel, it can be tempting to only visit the most popular tourist spots, but if you want to have a truly authentic experience, it's important to venture off the beaten path and explore someplace new. In 2023, make it your goal to find those hidden gems that very few tourists know about.

Be grateful for every experience—good and bad alike. It's so important to remember that even though not every travel experience is going to be perfect (some might be down-right terrible), we should still find a way to be grateful for each and every one of them anyway. Because, without the bad experiences, we wouldn't appreciate the good ones nearly as much! So whatever 2023 throws your way, just remember—it's all part of the adventure!

Keep a travel journal - There's nothing like journaling to help us remember all of the special moments from our travels. This year, make a commitment to keep track of all your adventures big and small by writing them down in a travel journal (or even starting a blog!). You’ll be glad you did when you look back and see all that you have accomplished!

Embrace your inner wanderer - This is probably the most important resolution of all: remember to embrace your inner wanderer! Don't let anyone tell you that wanderlust is a bad thing—it's what makes life interesting and exciting! So resolve to wander often in 2023…and beyond!

The New Year is a perfect time for reflection—and for setting resolutions for improvement in the coming year. For wanderers, this may mean vowing to be more spontaneous with our travels or following our hearts. Whatever your resolutions may be, I wish you the best in achieving them in 2023! In fact, I’d like to propose a toast…Here’s to making 2023 a year full of new adventures, cherished memories, and lots of spontaneous moments. Cheers!
